A giggle of a way for a child to learn to read!

A great set of books! The focus on short vowel sounds and the amusing stories helps the beginning reader master a skill and have fun at the same time -- a giggle for the child & the adult. The stickers are a great re-inforcement. My child wants to save the books to pass to his/her children. What better endorsement can you get! By the way, we really like Stuck Duck the best.
Awesome Set For Emerging Readers

This is such a find!!! Great set for beginning readers. The stories are just the right length, with plenty of repetition, but not too much! The pictures are great too. The stories are entertaining and keep my son's interest. I never knew you could do so much with so few words, and short vowels only! My son loves the stickers included (four for each book) to put in the book when he finishes. The set is very durable, he caries it everywhere! The parent guide is ok, but I like the questions at the end of each story to check for comprehension and build on the words your child has just learned. I plan to order set two today!
Fantastic books for young readers!

This is definitely the best set of books we have found for our son. He is in kindergarten and is just learning to read. Until now, although he "endured" reading to me the small books sent home from his teacher every week, he had shown very little enthusiasm (or confidence)toward reading. This set got him to laugh and realize that reading could actually be enjoyable! Not only are the words and sentences short enough for him to master, the story lines are humorous, and the illustration make him crack up. All of the sudden, he is feeling pretty smug reading on his own!
BEST SET OF EARLY READER BOOKS

I LOVE this set of books and my Kindergardener does too. The stories are cute and short. The books my son brought home from school he would just look at the pictures and try to guess the words, but with these he really trys to read the words. They have helped reinforced his sight words. I give this set an A+.
Excellent Phonics reader

I'm using this book to help teach my little boy how to read phonetically. He started to memorize books by ear and it was becoming difficult to teach him how to read phonically. His memory was so good that it was a drawback to actually READING the words.

We've only progressed to the third book in this 10 book collection, but already I see that this series is going to force him to read and not memorize, which is a good thing. He's struggling now, but the books are forcing him to pronounce phonetically.

The concentration on certain phonetic sounds per book are an excellent method to help young minds progressively advance in their reading skills.
