Amazing for everyone

This book is nothing short of revolutionary. It creates a brand new category of cookbooks for children - one in which children actually do the cooking and experience the fun and pride of doing it themselves. Every recipe is photographed - in colour - and your first thought is: "It looks too good. Even I can't make it like that." And then you'll be amazed when in a few deft steps, your child has done it! The tricky techniques of a kitchen pro are simplified so that anyone can do it. The amazing thing is - it's real food, too! Real crackers (that don't come from a box), real bread (that doesn't need kneading), dumpling ravioli, pad thai, chicken "bobs" on a stick. The sweets are better than most bakeries - from classics like cinnamon buns and triple-tier cakes to quirky classics-to-be like meringue dinosaur eggs and tiny peanut butter and jam cookies shaped like a slice of bread. Everything is in small quanitities, too, so it teaches a healthy lesson that everything is good in moderation, especially when you make it yourself. My kids use this book constantly. It is teaching them that they can do it themselves. And here's an added testimonial: the grown-up kids around the house are using it, too. Because it's great stuff - and it's so easy. This is an inventive, intelligent, useful, fun and beautiful cookbook - for anyone.
Fabulous Book!

I bought my first copy of K4K before xmas and loved it! My kids enjoyed the photos and we enjoyed the family time in choosing and making the recipes. It seemed the perfect "family gift" for anyone with young kids to preteen, so I ended up buying about 8 copies to give as Christmas gifts. Of course kids are more interested in making "treats" that look tasty and pretty, it is the PERFECT way to get kids interested in the kitchen!
Beautiful and educational!

The first reviewer must not have tried out the recipe book for herself/himself! This book isn't meant as a basis for providing meals for children; it's meant to provide parents with a fun way to spend some time with their kids! We're not talking serious cooking here.....the recipes are easy to prepare, don't require heavy machinery, and give fantastic results. Your kids have fun with you and gain confidence having made something that tastes great and looks store-bought! Cooking with your kids is a great way to spend some quality time with them. And to top it all off, the book looks great on your countertop! What more can you ask for?

I love Kitchen for Kids !
More importantly, my daughters (9+10) love it too.
The recipes are easy to follow, easy to read but definately not boring, and the photos make it exciting to look through.
I would highly recommend it to anyone who would like to inspire their "young chefs", and think it makes a great birthday gift.
BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!

I was absolutely disappointed with this book when I received it. It is just a book of recipes. The only thing related to kids is the title. It has nothing in it to attract kids to cooking! There are no explanations of terms - for example - what does whip mean? The recipes look fairly simple, though some have many ingredients, but do not buy this book if you want to introduce your children or grandchildren to cooking techniques with the help of an expert, because this book is not the one for you. There are pictures of each recipe - but nothing you wouldn't see in another adult cookbook. I would not buy it for anyone less than 10 years of age.
